Our COVID-19 Response

Synergy Radiology is committed to ensuring that our patients and community continue to receive the highest standard of health care they require while following the recommendations by not only our local health departments but the Australian Government during the COVID-19 pandemic.

COVID-19 continues to affect the Australian population and the National response changes almost daily, and as your health professionals, we are required to adapt with it to ensure that patients are receiving safe and low-risk care, but each of our sites remains open, and we have not limited the attention we are giving to our patients.

How our practices are ensuring a safe method for care delivery during the COVID-19 Pandemic

For the safety of our patients, staff and health care teams, we screen every patient that comes onsite, their carers, or family who are in attendance before entry to our practices.

Only patients, direct carers or guardians are allowed entry into the practice, to ensure a reduced number of people within each practice. We are a patient only practice.

Patients who have symptoms including fever, respiratory symptoms such as cough, sore throat or anosmia, recently travelled or have been in contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients will likely be denied access to ensure the safety of our facility, its staff and other patients which often includes the elderly and immunosuppressed. The triage process is monitored and assessed by our radiologists on site.

In some cases, patients may be asked to wait outside to maintain safe social distancing in our practices.

We have handwashing and hand sanitising stations, masks for patients who require added protection.

Every practice has personal protective equipment for our staff to limit any risk of transmission of the virus.

Keeping a safe distance from our staff & maintaining confidentiality

We have signage on the floor, distance barriers, screen guards on desks and safety equipment in our practices to not only alert patients to distancing requirements but to protect our hardworking staff and protect our patients. We thank all our patients for following these distancing guidelines.

We must continue to do identity screening on all our patients. Please ensure you are following the recommendations at your practice to ensure you are staying a safe distance away from patients who may need to disclose personal information for their privacy and confidentiality.

Imaging results

All your results will be sent to your referring practitioner via a secure electronic method – this includes to your images also.

As a patient, you will also have access to your images and report (the report is available 48 hours after being delivered to your GP / Specialist first) via our My Health Diary (MHD) app.

This method ensures there is no unnecessary waiting in the practice, reduces the need for patients to return to collect results.

Interventional Procedures

To regulate the amount of direct contact between radiologists and patients each day, we have limited the amount of interventional procedures being performed at the practices each day. This may mean a delay in obtaining an appointment for your injection. Clinical urgent Biopsies may be given priority during this time. We appreciate your understanding.

I have children I will need to bring with me

We are ensuring we follow the social distancing recommendations. If you have children who are coming in for care, or will be attending with you, we advise that one parent or carer can be in attendance with one child.

Please ensure that you have another carer or parent in attendance with any other child.
The whole family may not be allowed to enter the practice together due to the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
Radiology Practices are required to follow the distancing rules, and overcrowding consultation rooms are not safe for our patients or our staff.
If you are unable to follow this advice, please call and speak to our staff for an alternative option.

Please be aware that all children and parents and carers who present with children are required to be screened.
